ECE Student & Developer

Building the physical layers
& writing the code that runs them.

I design hardware and write firmware. Specialize in low-latency C/C++ embedded systems, custom multi-layer PCB design in Altium and KiCAD, and scripting in Python.

About

I am an Electrical and Computer Engineering student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, graduating May 2027, and currently an Avionics & Software Test Engineering Intern at SpaceX.

Most of my work sits between the board and the code that runs on it: schematic capture and multi-layer PCB design, then the C/C++ firmware and the Python that tests it. I like the parts of a project where the hardware and the software have to agree on something.

Experience

Software & Avionics Test Engineering Intern

SpaceX May 2026 — Aug 2026

Develop automated test suites and avionics hardware test simulation infrastructure in Python to validate spacecraft sensors and flight electronics. Integrate sensor telemetry with those test systems to check safety limits and report results automatically.

Research Assistant

University of North Carolina at Charlotte Oct 2025 — Present

Research custom MEMS sensor microfabrication, microfluidics, and low-level firmware. Design biomedical thermocouple layouts in K-Layout around a 40-micron needle structure, then fabricate them in house with photolithography, deep reactive-ion etching, and sputtering.

On the electronics side, a 6x20mm Flex-PCB with a 24-bit ADC reads those sensors to 0.05°C. Firmware is low-power C, in two variants: NRF52 for Bluetooth streaming and STM32 for local logging.

Teaching Assistant

University of North Carolina at Charlotte Aug 2025 — Dec 2025

Mentored students in Python debugging and software testing methodologies to resolve coding errors. Taught MicroPython fundamentals, including memory constraints and file I/O operations, for local, persistent storage of physical sensor telemetry. Hosted office hours to troubleshoot hardware-software interfaces and digital logic.

Electrical Engineer Intern

Bitar Machine Design Sep 2024 — Sep 2025

Owned design, schematic capture, multi-layer routing, and physical prototyping for custom PCBs. Engineered an STM32-based 24V/10A motor driver with an integrated 433MHz RF receiver and thermal heatsinks, an ATtiny85 battery management system for 110°C thermal monitoring, and a medical device pogo-pin charger. Prototyped closed-loop bang-bang controllers to drive Thermoelectric Coolers (TECs), and built Python LLM summarizers for patent analysis.

Canvas MCP Server

Built a server that gives Claude read-only access to Canvas so students can ask about their assignments, grades, and files instead of digging through the Canvas site. Runs as a local tool and as a hosted Cloudflare Worker with OAuth login and encrypted credential storage, plus a Chrome extension that adds deadline reminders and keeps its credentials on the student's own machine. Open to any student at any school, free.

Notify MCP Server

Built a zero-dependency Node.js Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that sends push notifications to mobile lock screens via ntfy HTTP POST requests. Gives AI models the ability to alert developers when needed, such as when a background task finishes or there is an issue that requires a human decision.

Drone ESC (In Progress)

Designing a high-power density sensorless BLDC Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) for quadcopters. Developing a 4-layer PCB optimized for high-current routing and thermal dissipation, high-frequency gate drivers, and custom firmware running commutation algorithms.

Digital Guitar Pedal

A C++ engine takes audio from an interface, runs it through stateful IIR filters and a hard-clipping overdrive, and returns it to the speakers. Lock-free atomics keep the audio thread free of allocation and locks. Round trip measures 22 ms on the machine it was built on, reported by the engine at startup rather than claimed. A Python GUI drives the parameters over UDP and displays the levels the engine sends back.

Automated Bearing Packaging Line

Programmed PLCs as part of a 7-member engineering team to automate a packaging line for an industrial sponsor. Integrated photoelectric sensors and S-type load cells to ensure reliable, automated packaging operation.

DC-AC Inverter

Designed, simulated, and tested a 110V DC-AC inverter circuit to achieve efficient power conversion. Analyzed switching behavior and power factor using MATLAB/Simulink and LTSpice to validate waveform quality.
